Confusing

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 6, 2012, 10:50 AM
I'm confused.

I had reported my stolen work, and got a note from deviantArt staff saying I'm not the original artist or the current copyright owner, thus making the report invalid.

Excuse me? I am the real one. This is so confusing and nerve-wrecking!

At least the took it down, the stolen deviation...

Can we get an update on this? I was so angry for you when I read this journal entry, and I really want to know if DA have seen sense? I hope you're alright anyway and the thieves aren't getting to you. Your work is stunning :)

So sorry to hear...but it doesn't surprise me that someone would try and claim your work as theirs...it is wonderful stuff! Recently, a Phoenix based pro photographer discovered his material had been stolen by another local photographer...word got out and within minutes, the offenders FB and Web Page were slammed by dozens of negative feedbacks and comments. Within a few more minutes, the offender had removed the photos, contacted the photographer - apologized and promised to never do it again. Hopefully your thief will likewise have an attack of conscience. Nevertheless, your work is wonderful and I can't wait to see more. Good luck, good shooting!

Oh, Internet. Sometimes I worry that you cause more problems than you're intended to fix.

That sucks! I see art theft all the time, and its really sad that DA can't even track down who the real artist is... I mean, the link to your original photos were all through the comment section too... Art theft makes things complicated for everyone D:

That's why when you report you use the "Permission Issues" and click "This work may contain copyrighted material" and "I don't think they have permission to use this" buttons. Otherwise, you have to fill out a Copyright proof and owners form, submit that to DA then report again with the same copyright form. It's retarded, but I've learned this from many years of thefts. :/

Oh, FYI, I got a note from the admins last night saying they reviewed my report and the Fruitz image was removed from copyright violation. It's a start if nothing else.
