Inspired in the ying yang concept. To see this better, cover with your hand half of the face, then the other, you'll see the change of expression. Also, the lip's curve, was to make it look "surrealistic". We all know how the Ying Yang looks like([link]), so that's what I tried!
Epic concept (: Its like the lighter and darker side of your personality. Im so glad that you told us to cover half of the face. I would never have understood it fully without that.
Another way to look at it is someone battling conscience. Like, the first thing I noticed with this was your mouth tilted like ':/' Undecided emotions wrestling one another.
Its a bit hard to see the white side of your eye shadow although I suppose you might've wanted it to be subtle like that. I think it could be brought out a bit more.
I also think it mightve been better if the shot was focused more around the head. The chest is a bit distracting.
But overall, this is a really significant shot that we can all, im sure, relate to. Keep up the amazing work
I love the concept, as well as your different expressions on the sides of your face, and use of make up to look like a sneer.
The white on your face is subtle, perhaps a little too subtle although I understand you may want to center the attention on your lips.
It would have been cool if you painted all of your face with the black lip side white, and vice verca, which is what a real Yin Yang is like, although of course, this is your interpretation of it. White mascara on black liner would have also made the colours pop and contrast each other more. I notice you usually have blue as a default colour for a lot of pieces, and it would have been more accentuating the black and white theme if the eyes were.
Also, maybe a headshot would've centered your art better, since there's nothing really on the rest of your body.
All in all, a very cool piece and definitely catches the eye. (Alright I'll stop critiquing every single thing now )
