One of the reasons this image works very well with you because you do a lot of work with eyes and you are really good with it. This and how snakes are sometimes connected with hypnotism makes this image I feel like somewhat of a trademark piece of yours, since you do hypnotize with your eyes in most of your pieces.
The photo itself is superb and you managed to capture/create the intense, darker emotion that is another one of your strong sides.
Like in other of your images I do see the editing/effects lack the realism that would make it absolutely perfect (the scales), and I guess this is something you will or are already working on.
Nevertheless, you are still one of my favourites on DA and a complete breath of fresh air among the many artists here and you do manage the most important thing, which is communicate the intense emotion that makes my eye pop.
The colors are setted in a great symphony.
The editing work you have done here is perfect. Eyes, Lips, skin. My only objection is to the scales. I'd have expected something more realistic for the deviation to be fully perfect, they look as plain shadows.
The make up has definitely got me, specially the lines of the mouth, very snaky-like.
And wait... You got a snake too! I wouldn't dare, so that adds points too !
Since this is a self-portrait, the amount of work implied here is astonishing.
However, I'd have like to see more hair in the picture (like the medusa maybe?).
