I have been enjoying your work for some time now, and I've got to say this is one of the best I've seen. I like how you've got everything in a monochrome, and suddenly, there's a pop of colour in the lips. it is obvious that a lot of work has gone into this piece, and I like how accurate you've stayed to actual bone structure, such as the facial construction, while keeping it stylized. I also like that, except for the red, red lips, you've kept the piece relatively colourless, while not letting it seem bland. I love the detail in this, and I hope to see many more pieces from you.
Firstly, before anything is said--this perhaps your best piece of artwork yet. I think it's exceptionally creative and brilliant. (of course that is in my opinion only) I agree with what has been said about your eyes and lips. Very popping, lighting the picture with enough color to spark interest and capture gazes for longer than five seconds. (analyzers and artists have claimed that if going through at least 500 photos, if you can keep someones attention on yours for longer than five seconds-you have yourself a very good/and or interesting picture) I believe this is true for this picture. Beautifully spectacular, and says exactly what you want it to say.
Bones on the hands I would say are--perfect: very even, rich black with a smudge of gray for the outlining. Lips are balanced with a dark, rose red--it's got a little gloss and shine to them but not too much to seem out of place. Implies that life, color, or hope (whichever you interpret) still thrives on a decaying body. The eyes greatly contrasted and shadowed for effect, are fantastic for what you were going for. It's my own comment when I say that you could have been more dark and creepy by completely washing out your eye, and have just a pale white instead of any iris at all. That would have come across more demonic and creepy. (but what you have done looks amazing too)
As for what I think you could have done better...The sphere of darkness around your eye wavers a bit and kinda of ruins the clean shadowing of this picture. It wouldn't have been so noticeable had not all your other shadowing been so perfect. (the shadow of your cheek is absolutely AWESOME. I love everything about it) Also, could anything have been done for your nose, possibly? Maybe you tried and it didn't look right, but I think it looks a little blank. Other than that, I think that's about it.
So to sum things up--epic job. Looks pretty dang legit and professionally done. Much better than what most could have managed. You're a real artist in the making; I think this is great example of the kinda of make-up and vision you have for photography. Most remain widely impressed and hugely inspired by your work. And some can only imagine the amount of hours and hard labor you put into your photographs. Greatest part of this picture, is the message it obviously sends. I have no doubt that almost every person got the meaning and the feel you wanted them to have for it. Simply colossal! Keep it up, and don't stop no matter what any critique says.
