The image really draws your eye with the blood on the face. It makes you want to learn more about the shot. The blood obviously shows that she probably killed someone.
I love how the hair is blood red too, it's like she has killed so many times that her hair was been soaked with blood. Or at least, that's the feel that I get from it.
The slightly insane look to her eyes grasp your attention right when you come in which I give a thumbs up for. The eyes are really the best part of the photo and they are the ones that will really draw someone in. You see the slightly crazed and insane look of fiery hunger, like she would kill. But paired with the simple gesture of "Shhh" it just makes it so much more insane.
Now, you have the very simple finger to the lips. I normally do this if I'm going to do something devious. The only thing I would've changed here is maybe tell the model to smile wider. Perhaps stain her teeth with a little bit of blood. It would just add to the insanity and make it that much more dramatic. Plus with the blood on the finger it just adds to the fact that you obvious were going for someone who killed someone.
I love the pieces of hair falling into her face. It gives the sense that piece by piece, fragment by fragment, she is losing her sanity. They're falling into the blood, they are falling into the insanity [which is represented by the blood]
Now, on my last thought about the picture before I sing my endless praise, is the skin. I love how soft and white it looks in the shot, not just because it contrasts so deeply with her hair and the blood. It shows the viewer that she could be innocent in the eyes of everyone else. Especially with her large, doe blue eyes it makes her seem so cute and pretty, not a murderer. It makes me think of dolls and how creepily perfect they are, but a murderer is obsessed? It's a nice combo of the doll actually being the murderer.
Now, with that, I must say; this was a beautiful piece of art. The darkness is compelling, making you wonder if people are as sane as they seem. I loved this and how the contrasts are so perfectly balanced that is just pulls everything together for one fabulous shot.
I love this one! I've viewed it time and again and each time I sit amazed at this vision. You portray a calm demeanor with the face, yet the eyes are alight with the fire of insanity. The stray strands of hair hint at the idea of pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. This lends support to the idea of a broken Psyche. To be a critique with value (not just endless praise) I've always though I should be complete. This often this meant looking for something that could be improved. Honestly I can find nothing here to say. I thing this image works in every way; technique - perfect, impact - forceful, etc. It is a piece that might freak me out if I had it hanging on a wall, but I would learn to live with. ) GREAT job!
